I love your towels. I did not see any dimensions, but I am interested in your goal for the size of a towel. I have discovered that there are no real good quality kitchen towels out there and quality bathroom towels are rare so I have begun knitting my own bathroom towels, face cloths, kitchen towels as well as dish cloths.

Hi,
Thank you for the compliments on my site, especially this new page. I wish I could take credit for these patterns, but they are not not my own. I provide links to other peoples sites with patterns.
I know what you mean about a lack of good quality kitchen and bathroom towels. That is part of what has caused me to begin looking on line for free towel patterns.
I have just started posting links to towel patterns and am only partially finished with making one from a pattern purchased from a designer. It is 13 inches wide with the length left up to the knitter. I will make it about 18 inches long, depending on how much yarn is left of the cone being used. My goal for my own towels, both in thr kitchen and the bathroom is for them to be closer to 14 or 15 inches wide and at least 18-20 inches long. I am not sure how much yarn this will require in terms of yardage or weight.
The measurements on a couple of other kitchen towel patterns I have seen call for them to measure 9 1/2 - 13 inches wide. towel lengths in patterns range from 12 - 21 inches long, with many of the patterns leaving the length up to the knitter. There are many patterns that base the length of the towel on number of rows or the amount of pattern repeats such as: repeat row 1-10 for 10 times. I don’t know how long those towels become. The store bought towels in my own kitchen measure 13 inches wide by 18 inches long. My bathroom hand towels measure 15 1/2 inches wide by 25 inches long.
I hope this helps. If I can be of further help, please let me know.

I am trying to knit a kitchen ensemble for Christmas with Roosters. I now have a rooster dishcloth thanks to you. However, I would like to also do a rooster dishtowel and pot holder and oven mitt. Therefore, if you can find any of those please let me know. Really love your site–I bookmarked it to my favorites. Thanks a lot for all your great patterns.

Do you know of any hanging hand-towel patterns that don’t use a button or velcro?

Hi,
I will look around for some. It won’t be today since I need to do some things off line before going to work in a while.
I will be back in touch in the next day or so.

I found a site with a Rooster:

There is no longer a picture available on the site. If you are on Ravelry, you can go to the tab marked Patterns, type in rooster and you will find that someone has used this pattern and posted a picture of it there.
