The Time Has Come–Finally

Before proceeding, I sincerely hope all of you are well and safe. I don’t want to dwell on this, but I acknowledge that this time in our world’s history is scary. One of the things I know is that hard times eventually end…As will the events that are now happening.

My purpose for writing today is to tell you a bit about my life. The past two years have been challenging personally and professionally. A lot of energy has been used to get through them. This is fine because when the energy, physical, emotional and spiritual, was needed, it was there. As was the support from others.

About a month ago, at the urging of my husband and siblings, I made decided to retire from my professional endeavors. It was a bittersweet decision even though it was time to do so. The essence of this is that two weeks ago I officially retired. This is proving to be a wonderful choice. There is now the time and energy to do all the things that have been placed on hold for a long time.

Please bear with me while I digress for a few moments. This site began in 1996 as a blog on another platform to provide a place to keep track of free dishcloths patterns that I found on the internet. It was called :Norma’s Needlework Adventures….Those were some fun and interesting times. I won’t bore you a lot of history except to tell you that it was a time before cell phones, WiFi and DSL. Still, it was a far cry from the days of my original Apple 11C Computer .

This brings me to the present. After two weeks of retirement, life is settling down to allow me some time to do some of the activities I really want to do. One of those things is to work on this web site. There are a lot of things to do that will improve and make this site more current. The changes I have in mind will also hopefully make it more useful. Last, but not least, there is now more time to be available to pay attention and respond to all of you.

Thank you for listening…Be well and be safe.

Thank You

Thank you to all of you who took the time to answer my questions. I appreciate it very much.  The links have been added on the Knit Cloths page and the National  Cloths page of this site.

Another Question

First of all, I apologize for  not thinking of this earlier, especially since a few of you wonderful readers have already responded. I do have another question:

There is at least one site I know about that has dishcloth patterns for the letters of the alphabet and numbers.  Would like to see them listed individually, or would you like to have a link to the page where they are listed?

Thank you!

Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

Announcement and Apology

I apologize for not replying  to all of you who have attempted to reach me by way of the Contact Me page on this site in the past year or so. The reason, not meant as an excuse,  for this is that in the course of switching computers I lost track of the email address.

The announcement is : The problem has been resolved. I will be answering those emails in the next few days.  My goal is to take care of all of them this weekend, but I cannot promise to meet that goal because family time and family needs come first.  It might be as late as sometime Monday before all of them are answered.

I hope each of you has a safe and good weekend.

PDF Files

I have been observing that there seems to be an increase in the number of patterns being offered in PDF format. I try to place that in a note at the end of the link so no one is surprised by this. I also open them myself to insure that they are safe and contain a copy of the pattern listed on the link. So far, there has never been a safety or accuracy issue with any of them. I do not expect to have one because most people are honest and upright. Just in case something strange like that ever happens, please be assured that I will not include a link to the pattern on this site. The designer or owner of the web site will also be contacted privately.

Have a great day!

Making Progress

The Crochet Cloths page is finally updated. To the best of my knowledge all of the dead links have been removed. It feels like it has taken a long time to accomplish this even though it has only been a little more than 2 1/2 weeks.

There are other things to be done this afternoon such as knitting; a bit of laundry; straightening up the kitchen and eating a late lunch. I will back here sometime to work on more pages.

Have a great day!

Slow Progress

I know it has been more than a week since I promised to do some  major updating here. It is going a lot slower than I hoped. There have been a lot of dead links removed . Some have been  able to be updated. Please be assured that I am still here and working even if it does not look like it. Thank  you again for your patience.
